Itinerary

Day 1 Entebbe to Murchison Falls National Park and Visit Top of the Falls

Your birding journey begins with a scenic drive from Entebbe to Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival, you'll visit the top of the falls for breathtaking views and a chance to spot species like Rock Pratincoles and Red-throated Bee-eaters. You'll settle in at Sambiya River Lodge and prepare for the adventures ahead.

Day 2 Birding in Budongo Forest & Boat Ride to the Falls

After an early breakfast, you'll head to Budongo Forest, one of Uganda’s prime birding sites. Look out for species like the African Dwarf Kingfisher, Chocolate-backed Kingfisher, and Rufous-crowned Eremomela. After lunch, you will enjoy a boat cruise to the base of Murchison Falls, where you can spot species such as the Goliath Heron and African Fish Eagle.

Day 3 Journey to Kibale National Park

You will depart for Kibale National Park, passing through scenic tea plantations and lush countryside. Along the way, you'll keep an eye out for birds like Black-and-white Casqued Hornbills and Papyrus Gonoleks. You'll arrive at Turaco Treetops in the evening for a relaxing stay.

Day 4 Birding in Kibale Forest & Transfer to Semuliki National Park

You'll begin your day with an early birding experience in Kibale Forest, home to species like the Green-breasted Pitta and Black Bee-eater. After lunch, you'll transfer to Semliki National Park. As an optional activity, you'll visit the Sempaya Hot Springs or head straight to Semliki Safari Lodge for an evening of relaxation.

Day 5 Shoebill Viewing, Game Drive & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

You'll start the day with a boat ride to spot the elusive Shoebill Stork in the wetlands. Afterward, you will embark on a game drive in Semliki National Park before transferring to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You'll check in at Elephant Hab Lodge and enjoy an evening or night game drive to observe nocturnal bird species and mammals.

After lunch, you will journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and stay at Mahogany Springs Lodge.

Day 9 Lake Bunyonyi to Lake Mburo National Park

Upon arrival, you will set out on an exciting game drive through the park’s rolling plains, keeping an eye out for iconic savannah birds like the elusive Red-faced Barbet, the Emerald-spotted Wood Dove, and a variety of other wildlife.
